EASY HALLOWEEN TREAT | SLIME POPCORN

Midnight monsters, sugar rushes, and sticky fingers – yep, Spooky Season is here! This Halloween, we’re keeping the sugar rush fun (and easy) with snacks that are as quick to make as they are to disappear. After the last fun-size choccy bar has vanished, switch things up with this delectable Slime Popcorn that is perfect for getting the little ones involved in some hands-on baking. Gooey, green, and gloriously addictive – this recipe requires no baking and is 100% Halloween party approved.

SLIME POPCORN

This recipe has been adapted by the fantastic Ashlee Marie Prisbrey at AllRecipes.

INGREDIENTS

● 10 cups popped popcorn
● ½ cup packed brown sugar
● ¼ cup butter
● 1 package of Marshmallows
● 5 drops green food colouring
● ½ cup candy eyeballs

METHOD

  1. Pour popcorn into a large bowl.
  2. Melt brown sugar and butter together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring often.
  3. Stir in marshmallows until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in green food colouring until colour is evenly distributed.
  5. Pour mixture over popcorn and stir until evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle in candy eyeballs
