Dogtober At The Pines Elanora
The Pines Elanora is committed to the support of Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA). ADA is a national charity that trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to help Australians with physical disabilities, children with autism, and people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Each Assistance Dog requires an investment of $30,000 and two years training before being placed with a recipient free of charge. Without government funding, ADA is dependent on corporate sponsorship and community support to continue this life-changing work.
Dogtober is ADA’s month-long fundraising campaign throughout the month of October. It offers a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved with Assistance Dogs to raise much-needed funds and awareness.
The Pines Elanora is celebrating Dogtober by offering ADA volunteers a stall in front of Woolworths on Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th October, and in front of Kmart on Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th Oct.
Friendly volunteers will be selling puppy merchandise to raise funds, and will be happy to answer questions from shoppers about what’s involved in raising an ADA puppy. ADA’s Gold Coast Ambassadog, Oska and Superpuppy-in-training, Oppy will also be available to meet shoppers and demonstrate their skills.
