Free Breast Screening – temporarily suspended
As of 31 March, BreastScreen Queensland has temporarily suspended routine breast screening appointments to safeguard the health of clients, staff and our community from the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision has been made to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread and free up capacity in the health care system.
Existing breast screen appointments will be cancelled, with no new bookings made at this time. BreastScreen Queensland will contact impacted clients directly and reschedule or book appointments once screening resumes.
Clients who have recently had a breast screen will receive results as usual. Services remain open for women who are asked to return for additional tests.
Women are urged to remain aware of the normal look and feel of their breasts and contact their doctor immediately if any new or unusual changes are noticed.
BreastScreen Queensland would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. For updates or more information visit breastscreen.qld.gov.au For details about COVID-19 call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or visit www.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus
