M1 (Pacific Motorway) Roadworks
The below updates are provided by Department of Transport and Main Roads and/or Seymour Whyte.
Sarawak Avenue – Mid/Late June for up to 12 weeks
Night-time bored piling- Daytime bored piling at Sarawak Avenue will commence and when required, at night. These piles on the north-eastern side of Sarawak Avenue must be installed at night due to the proximity to Sarawak Avenue and the pedestrian footpath.
- 6.00pm: Sun
- 6.30pm: Mon-Wed
- 8.00pm: Thurs
These works will generate some noise and will continue throughout the night.
Currumbin Creek Road & Sarawak Avenue – Sunday 25 June for up to 6 nights
Night-time sheet piling – Sheet piling either side of Sarawak Avenue and Currumbin Creek Road will be required to stabilise the bridge abutment and pier excavation works. Sheet piling involves vibrating large pieces of flat steel into the ground using an excavator.
Due to the proximity to the motorway, M1 lane closures will be required. Sheet piling is noisy, and the project team will aim to finish each night by 11pm.
